PLEASE CHANCE ME!!! or post some advices!!! ^-^;;

really appreciate it

Talk about thread hijacking…

Anyone else, please?

■■■■■ haha sorry didnt mean to do that

Listen, these chance threads are really useless. Trust me, I got into two med programs with a 3.6 and 2210 SAT score. Yes you need to be smart, so your numbers should be solid if you want to make it to a high caliber program, like Brown’s or Northwestern’s. If you take a second to think about it, though, you’re gonna be an MD no matter where you go. What’s going to be important is how much you put into it when you get there, and that you do well when you get into the med school portion of the program.

That being said, I think Mango Man, you should stay focused for the next two years. Don’t worry about these programs too much, just make sure they’re in the back of your mind and you do well in your classes and do those extracurriculars you were talking about. One Proud Korean, you should definitely bump up that SAT score. I would also say get involved in more science-related, but more medicine-related, extracurriculars. Your test scores may be really good, but you need to show admissions officers that you want to be a doctor and you have the experience in medicine to prove it. So go to a research lab, shadow a doctor. I know you volunteered at a hospital and thats a good start. A lot of applicants are high caliber in scores, but the ones that get in are really devoted to medicine outside the classroom too.

Those are my advices. I can’t really say as to whether or not you’ll get in, but I don’t see why you both don’t have a shot.

Thanks alot pianoman, it really helps!

What schools did you get accepted to, and if you could what were some of your stats? It would help give me something to aim for :).

Thanks again!

my stats are on some other post somewhere. I got into BU and UConn, and I’m going to UConn next year.
