Other info:
Freshman year there was an incident in my family where my father got lost while he was vacationing in India and that whole year it was a huge mess over here. I think that's why my grades were much lower. Also I was born in India, English is not my first language nor the language spoken at home. I am the only student in my school to start with Algebra 1 freshman year and end with Calc BC senior year. I am also the only student to take 4 Higher Level IB classes and one of few to take two IB science classes in one year.

Your chances are decent (i would say 55% to 65%). Your test scores are within the range. However, as you stated yourself, your grades are low for Rice. Since you underwent a very difficult/stressful situation when you got lower grades, explaining the situation about your dad getting lost in India on the Common App application may redeem yourself a little bit. I believe that the admissions officers will understand as long as you articulate the situation accurately. Also, be sure to ask your counselor to explain the circumstances in his/her recommendation.

Your extracurriculars are fine, but none of your activities really stand out. However, not everyone at Rice has impressive extracurriculars, so you should be fine. Good luck!
