Is there any chance for me to get into duke ed?
Also, please give me some advice on RD school, i'll really appreciate that..thanks!

I think you’re pretty competitive for Duke ED. As you probably already know, the number of ED applications shot up 32% this year and this year, as of yet, seems to be the hardiest year for college acceptance. That being said, I still think you have a good chance. First of all, your area of study is unique, in that most international (Asians) apply into math/science majors. However, you’ll have to keep in mind that the pool for international students is much harder. I’d say you have a good chance if you don’t need financial aid; if you need financial aid, your chances go down a bit. Nonetheless, I see that you have interest in sports (a lot of that at that) and writing (magazine, editor, writing contest). Your rank is pretty good as well and SAT score is good.

As for other RD schools, I think that for political science/literature/history, USC and Georgetown both have excellent programs for political science. I’m sorry to say that I don’t know much about literature/history, because I, myself, am a more math/science oriented guy, but I hope that my post helped you out a little bit.

Good luck!

nluu0929, thank you very much!
(and i haven’t applied for financial aid. i’m wondering if it’s just Duke or all the other top schools have so much increase in its application?)
