I'm an asian male attending a good public high school.
Im ranked in the top 25% 91/432 in my class and have a 92 weighted 87 unweighted gpa
I've worked my way from 3 honors classes a year to all honors and AP's this year.
My high school doesnt offer as many AP's..about 8 max for all years..i took 2

ACT-29 dont know writing yet (proud of myself..jumped from a 25)

EC: student council, freshman mentoring, ping pong, frisbee club, 3 years soccer team, 2 years tennis team, many years town soccer,

CS: volunteered at hospital, volunteered for thanksgiving dinner

My essays are decent but my letters of recommendation are ok

I'm applying to NYU, Boston College, Boston University, Syracuse, Umass Amherst, Fordham, University of Rochester and Northeastern University.. NYU is my number 1 but I wont be shocked if I get rejected. Please chance me at these colleges. Thanks

i’ll be honest with you your stats are not as impressive as other applicants but it depends which college you’re applying to for NYU

boston university-match? low match?
Syracuse-not familiar with
Umass Amherst- not familiar with
fordham-match
uRochester-low reach
northeastern university-match/low reach

yea…i see myself as the average applicant i guess…but im applying to school of arts and sciences at nyu…if i get in id be happy…i have a pretty decent college essay and okay letters of reccomendations…hopefully my chances are not too far off…i think my chances at bc are tougher than any other college…im just happy to be sending in a 29 on my acts as of December 28 rather than a 1750 sat or 25 act

From the looks of your application you look like your in good shape for a few places of the places your applying. NYU and boston college would be a reach for you but the rest would be good matches for you.

Try and get your ACTs and ECs better, but otherwise you have a decent profile so far.

NYU- reach, but how reachy depends on what school you are applying to
Boston College- low match
Boston University- match
Syracuse- really depends what school, but match
Umass Amherst- low match, if not in
Fordham- match
University of Rochester- lower reach, it is kinda competitive. It could be a match, depending on your midyear report.
Northeastern University-match

i guess more EC’s wouldnt hurt but sports takes a lot of time out of a kid…practice 3 hours a day everyday for two months each sport…getting home to balance schoolwork…i can only do so much :/…thanks for the matches tho…too bad for the ACT’s…
