Chance Me Please?!

Ok, so I'm a white female who attends high school in Chicago. Right now I'm a Junior. I think that my ECs are my weakest point. Chance me!

Schools:
Columbia (engineering)i know its a reach...
Northwestern (engineering) my brother goes there.
UChicago
Brown (also a reach...i know. I was thinking maybe the dual brown+RISD degree thing)
Tufts (engineering)
NYU
Washington University in St. Louis (engineering)

Stats:
GPA: 4.63 (i'm planning on getting that up to a 4.75 by the end of Junior year)
Rank: 26ish/620 i think that's top 4%
I took AP Euro sophomore year and got a 5 on the AP exam

This year I'm taking 2 AP classes, AP US history and AP English Lang
I'm also taking Art 2,
Italian 3 acc,
French 1 acc,
Acc. Math Analysis,
and Acc. Physics.

Next Year, I plan to take:
AP English Lit
AP Physics
AP Psych
Art 3
Acc. Italian 4
AP BC Calc

Ok, so I did pretty bad on the Practice ACT in September. I got a 29.
But I'm going to be taking a pretty rigorous Princeton Review ACT class leading up to the April 10 ACT. I think this will help me because my major problems are not finishing, and freezing up.
My goal act is a 33. (my brother got the same PACT score as me and ended up with a 34)

Activities (now here's my problem):
Speech Team ( I won some like 3rd place medals...maybe I'll do good at sectionals)
French Club
Newspaper
I volunteer at the local Art center in my neighborhood.
I'm doing an "Assistantship" at SAIC (School of the art institute of Chicago) for a Film Class.

My issue is that I wasn't exactly informed about ECs. I didn't realize top schools wanted you to do like a million things and win a million awards and such to get in until like the end of sophmore year. Then I realized that a lot of my peers had been preparing since like 7th grade.
I'm a very good writer, so I know I can write a killer admissions essay.
I was also thinking I should try winning some writing contests or something like that?

Also, will being a female and applying for an engineering program help me get in at all?
Will having a brother at Northwestern Help me get in there?
I'd really appreciate some tips.
And I feel a bit idiotic for not even considering the University of Illinois for Engineering since it has like a top engineering rank, but since I live in chicago, 60+ kids from my grade will be attending U of I, and I don't really like the kids at my High School...haha. Plus, I think I'd hate a huge state school.

ok Chance me!
thanks!

Any chance you can get a top job at the newspaper? Editor of newspaper is a good EC.
Your profile looks good.

EC’s dont matter. Anyone can lie about most EC’s and awards

Any one else want to chance me?

Those are all pretty tough schools. I’m not saying you won’t get in, but you could probably use some solid safeties.
NYU- match-lowmatch
Tufts, Northwestern - high match
Others - reach I think
