Chance me please????????

Hi could someone please tell me if I have a good shot at getting into UMCP?? I am freaking out!

I am currently an in-state senior girl.

Unweighted GPA: 3.46
Weighted GPA: 3.865

Class Rank: 94/505; top 18% in my class

SAT: 600 CR, 600 M, 600 W... 1800/2400 and 1200/1600

I have had a very rigorous schedule all throughout high school -- all Honors and AP classes. I have taken 9 AP courses: US History, English Language, English Literature, Environmental Science, Comparative Government and Politics, Calculus AB, French Language, Psychology, and World History.

I have am in the process of completing 4 of the AP classes but on the other AP exams I scored:

US History - 4
Psychology - 3
Environmental Science - 3
English Language - 3
World History - 2 ( my sophomore year :/ )

Extra Curriculars:

Varsity Golf team all four years, 2nd team all-county for two years (team captain for junior and senior years)
National Honor Society - inducted my sophomore year
Class Office - Treasurer all four years

Very involved with community service through my church and NHS group.

Awards:

National Scholastic Press Association Honor Roll 2009

Minds in Motion Scholar Athlete Award - all 4 years

Junior Terrapin Essay Scholarship winner!!! :) hahaha.

My parents and grandparents all went to Maryland, maybe that will also help me out.

I had great recommendations from 3 teachers and I am really proud of my essays, so hopefully they will be impressed...

THANK YOU FOR THE HELP!!! :)

Honors and AP classes are always helpful. And the fact that you’re in NHS is important too. I’m pretty sure the admissions people don’t care what you get on the AP exams, the scores only matter if you’re admitted and using the earned credits to be exempt from certain classes. Good luck! :)

thank you!

anyone else know the possibility?

did you apply early or normal? legacy doens’t matter at maryland either

I think you have a chance… bummer that only your AP US grade of 4 will actually transfer into credit at UMCP. Good Luck!

i applied for the priority decision
