Chance me please!

<p>Hi, i was just wondering if my hope for cornell was pretty much over =(</p>

<p>At the moment im in the middle of junior year and my grades have only been mediocre unfortunately. All the classes are either honors or ap.(except religion)
First marking Period
religion-93
Ap Calc AB-70
Physics-80
English-93
AP US1-94
Spanish 4-88
Comptech(elective)-100
2ndmarking period
AP calc AB-86
Physics-85
English-95
Religion-98
Spanish-92
Ap US 1-88
Midterms
calc-68 =( i dont know what happened)
Physics-90
English-havent recievedit yet
Spanish-91
History-70
religion-dont know yet but i definately did not do to well.</p>

<p>I unfortunately struggled alot 1st mostly because i didnot have a clue of what i was getting into. So after second i tried really hard. But unfortunately my grades still suffered because I was on the highschool wrestling team(varsity) which meant i had practice everyday and or a match which sometimesforced me to not have enough study time as i wouldlike.
I know i may seem like just another spanish kid who has no chance in hell bc my gpa at the moment is no where, where it needs to be but i was wondering if it were possible to still have a average gpa (3.7or3.8) by the end of the year. I hope to maintain straight A's in calc and physics throughout the entire year from now on but it will still result in a High or mid B in calc and a low to mid A in physics. KInda bad considering i want to major in a type of engineering.
The only way i could think of is scoring a 4 or 5 on the ap exam( which will be hard i know) but iv been putting the time and effort into it so it is possible. Im most probably going to get a 1700+ in math 1600+ in CR and 1600+ in english .but no ones until i actually take the test.
I have other clubs and stuff like
National Honors Society
Most probably Language Honors Society
Embassadors club
And a few other things that i forgot unfortunately.</p>

<p>I just wrote this stuff to see if i still have a chance or i completley screwed myself but scoring low grades first semester=(
I plan to take senior year
Ap CAlc BC
Ap Literature
Ap Us2
Ap Physics</p>

<p>Thnx for reading. It would be most appreciated if you guys left comments or thoughts about what i should do to increase my chances. Thnx again</p>

<p>It’s always hard to say, but in your case I’d try anyway. The biggest issue loss is the fee, but if you can spare it or get a fee waiver, go for it. I’ll be blunt, your grades are low. However, I would go and speak to your teachers. Ask them if there is anyway you can help out your previous term grades and how to improve now. I know that for the one AP class I took, my teacher promised that if we passed the AP test, he’d go back and up every term by one grade. </p>

<p>No matter what though I’d work my but off to get straight A’s throughout the rest of this year and next. Also, if you can I would try to get exceptional scores on your AP tests to prove you knew this stuff, you just weren’t ready for that heavy of a load. You might even have to consider dropping the wrestling in order to do well. Of coarse if your an amazing wrestler, that might help you get in.</p>

<p>thnx i appreciate the advice and im not the best wrestler but decided to stay with it.( its not really in me to just join and drop things). but only 2 more weeks and its over so i can finally get back to my studies.</p>
