*btw in case you don’t know where Hong Kong is, it’s a self-administrated region of China with a different political and educational system. College Board didn’t cancel SAT in Hong Kong. I’m not from international school so no IB or AP courses offered in my school. My school is considered a very prestigious local school tho.
Can someone chance me for these colleges please!
p.s. applied ED2 for stern and LSP as safety net
Can you afford these schools? You’re international so your aid will be low.
HK SAR is not really a “self-administrated” region, not only in the political reality. Most of the HK students at UMich came from the same few high schools. You would have a better chance if you are from one of them. They are not international School either. UMich does not superscore and they value GPA more. It would be hard for them to gauge your GPA if you are not from one of the schools that they are familiar with. What is your intended major?
@VANDEMORY1342 I’m not applying for financial aid
@billcsho yes I know HK isn’t but it’s just an easier way for me to explain the situation here to foreigners… I’m applying to Ross. UMich sent some representatives to our school last year I don’t know if it means they want us.
Ross pre-admit is likely the most competitive among all at UMich. They do want more diversity and global experience. However, you still need the stat to get you in first. What is your highest single sit SAT score?
@billcsho 1460 Is it possible if I apply to LSA and transfer later?
1460 is around the admission average. OOS and international students should aim higher due to the lower admission rate. Now around 80% of the class in Ross is pre-admitted and leave only 20% seats for sophomore transfer. If you applied pre-admitted and did not get accepted, it is not likely they will consider your sophomore application.
