This is mostly due to the fact that all but one of your listed schools is OOS. Applying OOS makes the admissions process even more competitive. You might want to check out some private schools or more in state schools.

I think you’ve got a good chance of getting into these with good essays. Chances are you won’t get into ALL of them, but odds are you will stand out to some admissions officers. Honestly, if you really want to go out of state, maybe consider private schools that don’t have limits on how many out of state kids they can let in. (By the way as someone from Michigan, MSU does have a beautiful campus worthy of a visit and a GREAT student run ice cream store. This means a lot coming from me bc I’m going to umich, too!)

I definitely think you would have a better chance at some instate public schools as they typically tend to accept more students. I’d definitely just work on polishing your application, expressing yourself in the best way possible, and remember that this is a crazy process and can be very random at times.
