Sorry, 1300+ total students(all 4 years). Around 400 in my class.

Some of your list are reaches generally, and others are reaches for CS or CS/business combinations.

What can you and your parents afford to pay?

Since you are a New York resident, why not include some of the SUNYs like Stony Brook, Buffalo, etc. in your list?

Yes! I am considering applying to Stony Brook/Binghamton as safeties for CS/Business. I think I have relatively good chance of being admitted to these two schools as a few of my friends with similar tests scores have gone there previously.

I say you’re looking pretty good. The only problems that are obvious are:

-Asian American Male (I too suffer from this grievous affliction)
-Prospective Computer Science Major

BUT, your EC’s are pretty balanced and you’ve got the grades and test scores to back it up. I say go for it

RPI would be a match.

Would Georgia Tech work as a match as well or is the acceptance rate too low to consider it as one?

If you’re recruitable for D3… do you want to play football and/or tennis in college? You could fill out the recruiting questionnaires at schools like URochester, Case Western, WashU, Emory, Johns Hopkins, and CMU. (Not an exhaustive list - just off the top of my head.) The CMU major in Computational Finance could be a particularly good fit. CMU is a very tough admit for anything CS-related, but D3 recruitment could improve your odds. All of the above schools have CS and business programs that could be worth a look. None would be safeties per se, but recruitment could turn reaches into matches and matches into safeties. For that matter, MIT is D3 too, although I haven’t gotten the sense that athletics give as big an admissions boost there as elsewhere. Rochester, Case, Hopkins and CMU all have top-notch music opportunities as well, if that’s important to you.

GT is a reach for all CS for all applicants from out of state.

Have you contacted the football coaches at any of these colleges ? Apart from UMich and Stanford, they might give you a shot. Especially the ivy league colleges, as their football team has to have an average academic index within 2 standard deviations of the non-athlete pool.

This means that athletes with high AIs (like you) might be able to get coach support. Even if this means being a bench-warmer, it might give you the best hook. Why not just reach out to some of the coaches and see what they say.

The NESCAC schools have a similar system, but they call it banding. You might consider adding some strong NESCAC schools to your list as well. They would love to get someone with stats like you on their team.
