Chance Me: Rice University

Here’s my course load thus far:

Do my stats look ok?? (Have not taken SAT or ACT)
Also take note, AICE is the program Cambridge International has established that provides a credit equivalent to that of an AICE credit (AP and AICE give a college credit however AICE is scored A-E with E being passing A being the highest, A-C being considered the best and U failing). AS level is the first year while some subjects have an A level, the second and highest level of the subject. RICE IS MY DREAM SCHOOL!!!
Freshman year:
AP Capstone Seminar-4
AICE Global Perspectives AS Level-B
AICE General Paper-A
AICE Thinking Skills AS Level-A
Spanish 1 (my only regular class)
Geometry Honors
AP Environmental Science-4
AICE Marine Science-B

Sophomore year: (scores have not come out yet)
AICE English AS
Algebra 2 Honors
AICE International History
AP Biology
AICE Biology AS
AP Capstone Research
AICE Global Perspectives A
-I took Spanish 2 online as my last class so I could go at my own pace and so it would not count against my class rank since it is regular.

Junior year: (the plan for next year)
AP English Comp
AICE Math AS (pre-calc on steroids…may take pre-calc honors lol)
AICE US History AS (maybe APUSH?)
AP Chem
AICE Bio A
AP Human Geo or Art History
Junior privilege (you’ll see why)

Senior year: (likely to change)
AP English Lit
AP Calc
AP Gov and politics or macro and microeconomics
AP Physics
AP Art History or Human Geo depending on which one I did not take
AP Psychology
Either senior privilege or dual enrollment at local university

-I will take Spanish 3 Honors online at some point lol!

Based on my stats where can I go? Am I doing the right things?

It’s impossible to chance a rising junior with no SAT or ACT scores. Come back in a year and ask again.

I am thinking around a 1400-1460 SAT and 33 ACT

You seem pretty competitive; however, it is difficult to chance rising juniors without SAT/ACT scores. EC wise, don’t just start clubs to start clubs; colleges will see right through that. They also, for the most part, won’t care about your non-competition clubs (ex. Gardening Club, Anime Club, Disney Club, TED-Talks Club) unless you can show some sort of accolades, excluding leadership roles. Focus more on the internships and real-world experiences, along with doing well in the service based clubs (NHS, Student Government, etc.) and the competition clubs (SciOly). Good luck with your application to the Air Force, hope it works out for you! GL!

Awesome! I do believe the ted talks club is a chapter that teaches students the public speaking but not quite sure. I will reconsider starting my own club
