<p>Hi everyone!</p>
<p>Let me first start with being a little candid: is SBCC honors even worth it?</p>
<p>And not necessarily for everyone, but mostly for me...</p>
<p>1) By the time I graduate high school, I'll have 35.7 UC credits; 9 of which taken at my local Community College (Pierce).
2) I will fill out the TAG application my first month at SBCC.
3) I plan on living on Isla Vista.
4) Hopefully, I'll be a Political Science major.
5) In high school, I took 10 APs, and passed 9 of them.
6) I took three community college classes, too (Political Science 1, Music Appreciation, American Sign Language II)
7) I plan on law school.
8) I will enter SBCC as a sophomore and transfer the same year (hopefully to Berkeley)
9) I'm currently a senior, and have so far have...
-JV Football (10)
-Captain of the Debate Team (11)
-Managed campaigns at Tattoo.com (10,11,12)
-Started (and ran down) a small business (11)
-Had a year where I got a 4.0 uw (10)
-Had a year where I got a 2.3 uw (9)
-Have been a math tutor (10,11)
-Been a part of FBLA (10)
-Have over 100 community service (12)
-Been a part of my local, national, high school cultural frat (12)
-Managed multiple "events" (aka parties) for my frat </p>
<p>10) As it looks, my UC GPA is a 3.64 while my normal GPA is a 3.1ish.
11) My SAT is a 1650 (won't report), while, as it turns out, my ACT practices have hit 31; so I may or may not take it (should I?)
12) My Senior Schedule: (AP) Statistics, (AP) US Government, (AP) Macroeconomics, (AP) Physics 1, (P) Madness and Identity, (P) Children's Literature, (P) Office Applications, (P) Life Skills, (CC) ASL II, (CC) Political Science 1, (CC) Music Appreciation.</p>
<p>I want to be in SBCC honors so that I may take Statistics honors (taking AP Stat right now, and my teacher has a 5 rate of 90%). I won't report the AP credit for that course. </p>
<p>This is the course load I hope I'll have at SBCC...</p>
<p>TAG INTO UC DAVIS.
Freshman Year (15.8, 15)
3-Comparative Politics
3-Political Thinking <em>took AP Govt, and CC Poli Sci</em>
4-Statistics, Honors <em>took AP Stat</em>
4-Marine Biology
1.8-Skin and Scuba Diving</p>
<p>3-Modern Europe <em>took, and passed, Euro</em>
3-Argumentation and Debate
3-International Politics*
3-American Literature* <em>took, and passed, AP English Lang</em>
3-Conceptual Physics* <em>took AP Chem last year, and AP Physics 1 this year</em></p>
<p>Anyway, so should I expect to get into SBCC honors? I could probably get into UCSB, as Naviance shows a plethora of students from my school who got in with 3.5s+; but I really want to land at Berkeley, so I want to take advantage of SBCC.</p>
<p>Also, does the "room and board" costs for SBCC include some kind of arrangements at IV? Should I expect a scholarship besides the grant that I could get because of my family's income? Is it possible that I could get a free ride? And a lot of students at my school are known to be straight C students, and then go to a CC and get a 4.0 easy; is that even a little plausible at a school like SBCC, which is known for its integrity/respectability? And lastly, why is SBCC's transfer rate so high?</p>
<p>THANKS!
