Chance me, s'il vous plait?

Hey all! I'm a junior at a small, rigorous prep school in Florida, and (like most of my classmates) have been getting the pre-application jitters. Can anyone judge my chances at: Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell, Georgetown, UChicago, Wash U, Amherst, Swarthmore, Vassar, Boston College, University of Florida, Denison, and Kenyon?

GPA: 3.96 unweighted; weighted is like a 4.3/4.4ish, but my school has a weird system...
SATs: 760 CR, 720 M, 790 W - 2270
ACT: 33, but I'm retaking it in October and aiming for a 34/35
SAT IIs: 780 US History, 720 World History, 690 Lit
My school doesn't officially "rank", but I've heard from one of the admins that I'm top 10 out of 120.

APs: I'll graduate with eleven, all other classes have been honors.

Extracurriculars:
Varsity Golf - captain (2 years), MVP, Coaches' Award, MVP, Athlete of the Week
Varsity Soccer
Literary Magazine - poetry editor (10th grade), assistant editor (11th grade), editor-in-chief (12th grade)
Literary Society (club) - Secretary (11th grade), Co-President (12th grade)
Newspaper - staff writer (9-11th grades), copy editor (12th grade)
All-Florida designation for my articles (highest honor in the state)
Internship in the summer of 2010 for a local magazine
Environmental Club - President (12th grade)
Several awards from a statewide French-speaking competition
99% sure I'll be a National Merit Semifinalist
National Honor Society
Mu Alpha Theta - math honor society
Cum Laude Society (top 15% of grade)
Leadership in Community Service Award - only given to three other HS students
300+ hours of community service
Paintings have been showcased in local art festivals, and one won a contest in a local magazine

Thanks so much, everyone!

Hi, so I’m from an international school, I only know a bit about US colleges, but I will still try to help.

EC wise, I think you have the length and you have the positions, and you definitely have the commitment. are there any awards to distinguish you academically? perhaps in competitions? I really like your progression with literary things, seems like something you love to do ;)

Grades wise, I think you’re set, and you’re as good as any other serious applicant to schoolsl ike Brown, Dartmouth, Georgetown, UChicago, Swarthmore. I’d say low reaches for Brown, Georgetown, Swarthmore (only because it stresses academics a lot), and maye high match for Uchicago (since your profile seems to be their type).

mid/high matches – amherst (note I’m going conservative here cuz there’s way too many good applicants out there these days)

low matches, high safeties (is there such a thing? :P) I say would be Wash U, Vassar (good choice! fits u very well),

safeties for sure; Boston College, University of Florida, Denison, and Kenyon

I like the schools you’ve chosen, you want to do literary stuff when you grow up right? If there’s still time, I suggest taking initiative in some area whether it’s organizing readings to little kids or “combining” your ECs together.

Im going to go ahead and disagree. WashU has become incredibly selective (almost as much as the Ivy’s) and Amherst is the best liberal arts school in America, no competition - and it will be just as selective as Harvard/Yale/Pton/et cetera. I agree pretty much with itchy, but definitely do not put WashU in a low match/high safety – put it more as a mid to high match.

As for uChicago, the Ivies, Swarthmore, etc., it’s going to be a crapshoot. You’re qualified and could probably get in, but don’t be shocked if you don’t.

Thanks! I know, WashU has gotten insanely hard to get into recently…it’s frightening! I’m honestly scared to apply to schools next year. I’m just preparing myself for a slew of rejection letters, haha.

bumpp…
