Chance Me: Stanford, Upenn, Brown, Duke, Johns Hopkins, BS/MD programs (Case, Rensalaer, URoch)

I would like to get into some top schools, but I think my SAT score and activities fall on the weaker side.

12 AP’s by end of senior year
ACT: 34 (35M, 34R, 30E, 36S)
SAT: Both of the times I took them I received a 1490, but with a superscore of 1540
SATII: Math II: 790
Biology: 780
US History: 720
Chem: 710
GPA: 98.25 (rank 1 / 250)
Location: NY
Ethnicity: Asian
Activities: Science Olympiad 4 years (Captain for 2 years, placed at regional + state level)
FBLA 4 years (FBLA Parliamentarian, placed at states)
Bioinformatics Club 3 years (research + code genomes of species for poster presentation at university)
Founded MIT Launch Club
NHS (but virtually everyone at my school has this)
Piano for 10+ years (won several regional competitions and some state competitions)
200 hours of volunteering at hospital nursing center
Designed healthcare passports for Burmese refugees
Summer work experience at rehab clinic
Interned at PT/OT therapy center
Spent two summers in Tibetan prefectures researching tapeworm diseases and treating infected patients (working on a publication, but probably won’t get published before early app deadlines)

I plan to have a bio major and follow a pre-med route, or perhaps attend a BS/MD program. Also, would it be worth applying ED to UPenn or Brown if that’s really the only plausible way of getting accepted?

Anyway, thank you to anyone who takes the time to chance me, I really appreciate it.

Hi, I’m applying Stanford REA, JHU, Penn, Brown, too! I think you should apply to whichever school that you’re most interested in going to, regardless of what you think the best chance for you is.

Your stats are not the maximum (34 ACT = 1540 SAT by the way, if you didn’t know), but they’re still really good. And, your activities look really good to me (specifically, the designing healthcare passports and researching tapeworm diseases part). They look like they show a lot of interest, initiative and dedication for sure. I actually think your activities really demonstrate to colleges that you have a lot of capabilities.

I’m nervous for turning in my application, and they’re so close, I just have so much anticipation. My ACT’s a 35, but my SAT IIs sucked. I’m taking the October ones, but I don’t know if I want to send them in. I think my activities are pretty solid (I had some really cool internships), but, of course, there’s little that’s a guarantee. I’m really hoping for my internships to really make me stand out and get me accepted, but not sure. I’m applying into the humanities.
