I retook my SAT (3rd time this december) and hope I get a higher score but I am not sure. I want to go to UCF so badly, I am going to email the wrestling coach tonight just in case, i'm thinking that if I get denied maybe the coach could help me? Idk, also quick question, if I applied with 70 service hours and just got a lot more, should I email them and let them know?

I would suggest emailing them on any important updates in your application, which I did. I emailed them to share that, while on my application is said 630 CC hours, I was able to reach 700. If there’s any awards you’ve won, etc, that would also be good to update them on. The GPA is a bit low for them, average summer GPA’s is from 3.3-3.7 I believe? Could be wrong though! However, they might get a different calculated GPA then what you’ve come up with, which could be higher. At one point in time, a few people on here stated that they take an elective class from each year, and add that into the GPA, so it could be improved. I’m unsure about the SAT score, because we take ACT in illinois, and I’m not at ALL familiar with the score, compared to others. However, I’m familiar with the ACT score. I highly suggest retaking the test. An individual on here was defered for summer with a 21 ACT, but a 4.0 GPA, while another was defered with a 24 ACT and about 3.3 GPA. My twin brother was rejected with a 23 ACT and 3.8 GPA. It’s very unpredictable, but I think you should get it up to at least a 22, which you can. I recieved a 20, my first time, on the act. Bought a prep book to study the math portion, because it was my worse subject. Ended up raising it to a 22…with a 30 on reading, 28 on english, low 20’s on science, 17 on math…math was the ONLY one that didn’y go up. Sometimes you just do better the second time around:)

I suggest updating them on new accomplishments:) It can only help you…not the other way around. That would be awful, of course. I think you stand a pretty good chance. Just continue to do well in school, because if you are defered, it’s best to have those grades up as best as possible. How were your essays, also? Many people are under the impression that they don’t really matter, but in my case, I think they had a HUGE affect.

I dont really fit the Asian stereotype lol. I’m half Italian, possibly why. I focused more on sports like an idiot but I don’t really regret it, I just wish I realized how hard it really is to get in.

I emailed the wrestling coach so well see what happens. If I get deferred I think I’ll be happy, I mean, not as bad as straight rejection

That’s the spirit! I agree with you, too. I’m italian, and the focus was on sports and work, not so much school school. Probably a negative aspect-however, the food is worth it all:)

I wish I could help, kevin. I’m not in Florida, so I’m only familiar with UF, FSU, UCF, and USF. Have you tried south Florida? I heard it’s not a bad fall back:)
