I'm a junior and applying to UCF next fall.
I would be applying as an out of state student from Chicago.
GPA: weighted is 4.38, unweighted is 3.5
I'm taking the ACT next week, but my practice has been 26.
I take all honors, and will have completed 5 APs by the end of my senior year.
I have 268 community service hours.
By the end of senior year I will have completed
-5 math courses
-4 english
-2 foreign language
-4 science (one of them is AP physics)
-4 social science
i will have a total of 32 credits.
I was born in Lithuania, and I hold permanent residence of US.
how much of a chance do i have to get in???

I got accepted to Summer 2012 with a 3.9 weighted, 1080 R/M, and only 100 hours. I think your gpa and classes look great, and I’ve seen people with lower GPAs and ACTs get in from out of state. Apply early or else you can spend up to 5 months waiting like I did…

I think you stand a great chance! I’ll be attending UCF this summer from Chicago, as I’m also from there:) If you feel kind of hesitant about it, and unsure, then I would apply for summer. You need summer classes within those four years, anyway, so why not simply start now?
Plus, a summer in Orlando Florida, rather then Chicago? Much more enjoyable, trust me. Honestly, solid GPA. Hopefully your ACT is very similar to the practice score, which it should be. What kind of EC’s do you have? Every little details helps, especially as an out of state student.

ah sweet! yeah I definitely agree about the Chicago weather…
well I’m in orchestra, tennis, and I do competitive sailing.
Plus, they could definitely use more girls in their engineering program :)

Also in orchestra:) Yes, that WILL work to your advantage-nothing better then getting more girls into the program! As long as you apply early, you should have no issue.
