Chance Me - T10's etc

What’s up guys, just joined the forum and looking for some feedback.

Nowhere close to submitting apps but getting there, currently a junior in hs.

I’m going to make this as quick and concise as possible.

Schools: T10’s (Competitive, you get the spiel)

General: California (Los Angeles), Small Private School (Very difficult and competitive, ~120 kids per grade), Male, White/Other (Not necessary to go in to), Middle Class, Rank N/A

Stats:

GPA: 4.21 w (Keep in mind, it’s a v difficult school)
ACT: 36 (only took once, got 36 overall)
APS: 4/5’s on all, again, really not important for specifics, took a total of 7

ECS:

Founder and CEO of a subscription-based entrepreneurship teaching platform (Confusing, I know), 30+ employees, rakes in low 6 digits profit every year (I donate a good amount to the organization I work with, see below)
Financial literacy teacher for an organization dedicated to working with children in impoverished and gang-ridden areas of Los Angeles (Kind of like YMCA)
Founder and CEO of a hedge fund for friends/family (Again, complicated), I manage low 6 digits from a handful of different clients
4 different internships all pertaining to Wall Street stuff (only 1 of which physically on Wall Street and all were extremely difficult to get)
Learning Mandarin (Fairly proficient, know ~2000 characters)
Cultural-exchange program overseas with Chinese students (exclusive, only about 20 kids did it)
Founder of Macroeconomics club (2+ years)
Member of Chinese club and programming club
I do a lot of work regarding artificial intelligence which I use to apply to my hedge fund (linear regression amirite?)
I’ve made a few award-winning student films (most are experimental and very strange lol), my “artistic” passion if you don’t consider business-related stuff an art.
JROTC (I plan to continue with this into ROTC following undergrad and work in naval intelligence branch)
Varsity Lacrosse (Maybe, maybe good enough to go and play college, unlikely though)
Various economics/business-related outside of school courses (in my own time, I do it to improve my fund)

Awards/Recognitions: (Honestly not a lot, what I do isn’t widely recognized)

Dozens of film awards (None huge, mostly concentrated to state/city/county stuff)
Youngest intern at investment-management fund (in 80-year history)
Chinese Honors Society, NHS, AP Scholar (Run-of-the-mill bs)
Commended Scholar (meaningless I know)
Speaker for 2000+ students at the Chinese school we did the exchange program with (Not really an award but kinda cool)
Recognized by a few local newspapers and news-stations for my fund, business, and community service

Hook(s):
“Interesting” family-life, to say the least (It’s more than enough for several stories, trust me)
Very entrenched in a few focused areas: made clear in ECS and all else
Leadership roles all very important and demanding, nothing to be brushed off
Compassionate and authentic (Not really a “hook” per-say but I think it’s noteworthy)

^ Sounds shallow, but just trust me on this, it’s got some depth lol

Recs:

  1. Internship hirer (Very well known on Wall Street and professor at a t10, very close with him, extremely good option)
  2. Organization manager (She was who I work side-by-side with for the organization listed above, amazing person and very close with, will be exceptional)
  3. Macro-economics teacher (Very well-known on Wall-Street, professor and gold speculator, wrote a lot of books, really cool and definitely a go-to – we are not extremely close but I just started working with him)
  4. Film teacher (Close with, however, had a recent falling out since I only had him one year. He really respected my work and knows me well)
(yes I know I listed #3 twice, still debating which to go with)
  5. Counselor (Not much to say I guess? She knows what I do, has gotten a lot of kids in great schools, overall great)

^ All recs from out of school sources except film teacher and counselor

Major:
No idea yet, looking towards an economics/east-Asian studies combo or something. Going to continue learning Mandarin until I’m (hopefully) fluent

Career:
Nothing definite yet. Also going to do the ROTC thing for 4 years following BA.

Anyways, I’m a pretty chill dude so just lmk what y’all think. Thanks!

I just realized I put “Like the YMCA” for the community service thing – I meant the Boys and Girls Club! It’s like 5 am

Bump: Put 2000 characters for how many I know in mandarin, meant 1200 lol, also by “know” I meant can recognize in a few instances (listening, speaking, reading, etc. not all 3 at once for some)

T10 schools are reaches for every student. Unhooked, and yes, you are unhooked, from CA is going to be a tough go. You will also need SAT II subject tests and your UW GPA is what will be looked out.

Spend your time finding match and safety schools that you get just as excited as your reach schools, focusing on why they are the right fit for you.

As an aside, many schools will not accept that many recommendations and just want to see two teacher recommendations from CORE subjects. Talk to your GC.

A small competitive private school’s GC is going to have the best information for you about your college list.

I think you have really solid chances but agree with everything above.
