I do not believe your DD’s chances are good at either UCSD or UCLA. The average accepted gpa of 3.94 is well above your daughter’s. Engineering is an impacted major at both schools higher test scores and gpa’s are required for those majors. The UC’s are not really holistic and more a numbers game. Good luck at the other schools.

UCSD: High match
UCLA: Reach
Berkeley: Reach
Case Western: Match
Cornell: Reach (at least it’s reachable)
BU: Match
UNC: Reach (BiomedE for an OOS is like getting into Duke)
UConn: Low match
Stony Brook 7-year MD: Reach (Scholars/Engineers for Medicine requires 3.8+)

What’s wrong with UIUC for BiomedE?

The average gpa at the UC’s are the capped UC Gpa. So you should calculate this gpa by looking online and check if you are in the range for UCSD. Although Engineering is tough. Good Luck!
