bump…ing myself up. PLEASE REPLY!!

wow i almost have the same credentials as you and i’m looking to apply to the same schools. from what i heard, even though your gpa isn’t that high your sat score will DEFINITELY bring you up. Also, extra curriculars could never hurt.

I’m the same in the sense that I had D’s and C’s my freshman year too, but I’ve also heard that if you show improvement, or overcame life obstacles, you are more appealing to the schools. so try doing that for your app.

Other than that goodluck!! And try bringing your grades up as much as you can

You have a good chance of getting into BC, UCD, and UCSD. I’m not so sure about USC, UCLA, and Cal, given your GPA.

UC Formula (as you probably already know): 50% GPA, 35% essay(s), 15% extracurricular activities.

The “C” in AP BIO, especially during junior year, may hurt your chances, but I’m sure if you compose stellar essays for the UC application, you’ll have a chance (interpret that however you want) at UCLA and Cal.

Best of luck! Feel free to PM me if you’d like any additional suggestions.

Farsheezy - good luck to you too! Hoping our D’s and C’s won’t be too big of an impact.

Akunamatatta - thank you so much! I did PM you so please do check! :)

buuumpp…please reply for anyone who might know anything about these colleges…

Good SAT scores, decent GPA ( that D and those C’s probably did most of the damage though). Considering the UC’s don’t count freshman grades and you do well on your SAT IIs:
UCSD: Match
UC Berkeley: Reach (let’s face it… even one blemish on your application will greatly hurt your chances for schools of these caliber, unless you got a great sob story essay or so happen to start a charity that donates children books to kids in third world countries).
UCLA: High Match/ Low Reach, although I might had been a bit generous here.
UCD: Match/Low Match …nice campus, great area, and nice people. Show an interest in their campus and your most likely an Aggie.
BC: Match/High Match
USC: High Match, probably best for your major, but don’t expect to go their for cheap. Even with financial aid, it can be difficult to meet the tuition cost at this expensive private.

Thanks, Loncria. I have to admit, like you said, one blemish would affect anyone greatly on Berkeley as they are overflowing with perfect transcripts every year. Financial aid isn’t my big concern, since I don’t plan on applying for any…But thank you!

BC is definitely my first choice so I’m glad to hear that’s somewhat of a match…
