Also, can some people tell me some information about William and Mary that isn't found online about just past experiences with things like social life, financial aid, and others. I've been researching quite a bit and i want to know some information based on experiences.

You certainly look competitive, although it is hard to tell without a better feel for your weighted grading system and whether you may fall within the top 10% or so of your class. There are so many factors that go into the decision process…really no saying for sure other than you’ve got a decent chance, but it’s a tough admit for almost everyone. Just do your best.

The part of the post that concerns me a bit, however, is that you mention being low income and wanting info on financial aid. Because W&M is a state school, financial aid for out-of-staters can be limited. Just be aware that getting in to college is only part of the equation. Make sure you apply to some schools that can promise to meet full need and/or offer large or guaranteed academic scholarships.

From the College website:

Will my full need be met?
The College’s undergraduate aid policy is centered on meeting as much as possible of a student’s demonstrated financial need. For Virginia residents, we generally meet students’ full need but have gaps in offers for some nonresident students. Like many institutions, we meet lower amounts of need in self-help (loans) and focus our grant money on higher need levels.

Good luck!! William & Mary is a wonderful school.

thank you very much! I’ve been researching William and Mary and it seems wonderful. I just feel as if I am not as qualified as other applicants. Hopefully, my subpar gpa will not make or break my decision results. thanks.

@beautifulchick, being a first-generation college student can certainly be a plus factor but to say it increases one’s chances tremendously is likely a bit of an overstatement.
