Essays:
Very well written. for common app, one talks of my mothers drug addiction and recovery, and for some schools, I used one about rascism I've encountered. My editor won the Scholastic art and writting awards last year for nonfiction, and all she suggested to change was word choice in a few instances.
I put a ton of time into my short answers. Essays are the strongest part of my app.

Recs:
Both are very strong. "stongly encourage you to admit...", and "most self-aware individual of his age..." are quotes. counselor loves me. Mostly "best in my career" checks.

Suspension:
I was suspended for three days winter of my junior year. This happened in a very stressful time in my home life. There was very legitimate stress caused by child support arguments; my father was going to be reincarcerated. I felt guilty and frustrated, but I ca't change it now. Also, my recomendations speak very favorably of growth I've displayed since this event.

Hook:
art! I sent (really good) slides, and I have 10 credits in everythhing from printmaking, painting, ceramics, art history and criticism, to photography, medals, sculpture, and visual language. In the spring I'll be writing a 50-100 pg. senior thesis on the Bauhuas under an art historian/former art librarian at UCLA, and The Getty. I also iddentified specific artist and art historians that teach at each school I applied to whom I'd enjoy working with.

I'm pretty well-read. The standards, such as Hemmingway, Vonnegut, and Faulkner are covered. But I've also encountered Tim O'Brien, Pynchon, Eugenides, McCarthy, Capote, Pamuk, Saramago, Mafouz, and Mukherjee, among others.

ditto to what "EASE" said

^ i agree with their agreement. by the way, you run marathons (very impressive), so do you run cross country too?

yeah, cross country too.

WOW MAN...u can run a marathon?! damnnnn...

if you dont mind answering, whats your best 5k or 3 mile time? i look up to your marathon ability. im pretty decent at xc myself :), but ive never had the ***** to try a full marathon. maybe next year. by the way, how long did it take you to train?

oh and great chances. id say your in at all

5k: 18:56, mile: 5:03

Luckily nothing about a marathon is fast. I trained for 4 months. I started with a base of eight miles, and each Saturday morning I added a mile to my major training run. Halfway through training I ran a 20 K in order to get a more immediate reward for my work. I did 3 runs a week in addition to the one long run on each Saturday. If you would like help designing a training plan, I'd be happy to asist you. PM me if you'd like.

It's a crap shot, lol, but I think you're in at all too.

...in at all?
