Also if you think I would have a chance at merit aid from any of these schools could you note that. Thanks for your help!!!
You have another version of this same thread.
Oops. I don’t know how this happened. I didn’t mean to create another one. @Corinthian
I would think you have a very good chance of getting into all of them – or into any school you were to choose. You would be in the running for an Ivy, Stanford, Duke, etc. Best of luck! They are all wonderful schools.
My D is also a junior, has similar stats and extra-murals (35 ACT, varsity sports team since freshman year, straight A’s, music, volunteering) and is looking at many of the same schools you list. Swap out Middlebury, Colgate, and Wesleyan for Union, Pomona, and St. Lawrence University, and you’d have the identical list. She wants to play a Div. 3 sport in college. SLU, although the lowest ranked (for what that’s worth,) is currently her favorite for the location and outdoor opportunities. You might want to take a look …
Whitman, Harvey Mudd, and Caltech are also on her radar.
All these schools will be reaches (as they are for everyone, since they all have <20% acceptance rates accept Colgate), but I think you’ll get into some of them. Swarthmore is the most unpredictable, CMC is the most selective by acceptance rate.
Any reason you’re not interested in Williams, Amherst, or Pomona? I think they would be a better fit based on your profile than some of your other schools.
Check out my thread - I applied to similar colleges! I think you will get into more than half of the LACs u apply to, because ur ECS and stats are better than mine. Remember to spend a lot of time on your essays! (Start over the summer on your common app essay and have many people read!)
I think you have a really good chance. Just make sure you do a stellar job on your common app essay and supplementals. I got into Colgate this year as a Benton Scholar and they gave me up to $53K in financial aid (I had a 33 ACT score and 4.05 weighted GPA btw).
