I have really good rec letters

My list so far is: Columbia, Tufts, Scripps, CMC, Pitzer, Occidental, Vanderbilt, Wellsely, Swarthmore, Cooper Union, Brown, UCLA Art, UCSB, Duke, Colorado College, but am looking for more match schools especially for Liberal arts…ideally not in the midwest

Tentative academic interests?

I intend to major in Fine/Visual Arts

Look into some of the NESCACs such as Connecticut College.

Definitely check out some of the less selective NESCAC’s (Trinity and Connecticut College.) and perhaps Union College in Upstate New York. I would also suggest some of the Patriot League Schools. Many of the patriot league schools tend to do a pretty good job balancing the liberal arts with pre professional majors. Given your stats you’d have a fighting chance at Lehigh and Bucknell. Good Luck!

Is there anything I can do to improve my chances for the schools I already applied to?

Well, I’d trim it should all of your applications not yet be submitted. Neither CMC nor Pitzer would be as strong as Scripps, for example, for the pursuit of visual arts. Similarly, Wellesley would not be as strong as Smith, nor Swarthmore as strong as Vassar or Wesleyan. By making considered changes, you could both improve your chances of admission overall and better align your ultimate options with your interests.

@pumpkineater123, It’s tough to improve your chances to schools you’ve already applied to. Obviously if you accomplish any signifigiant feats between now and decision day you could always notify the admissions office. If you’ve applied to a school ED, and have been deferred, you could try writing a “letter of intent” just reiterating why that school was, and remains to be, your 1st choice. Hope this helps!

I already got rejected from my ED! Hopefully my semester grades will boost my chances

@pumpkineater123 Sorry to hear that. Do you have any prospective ED2 schools in mind? Applying ED2 could boost your chances, and many of the schools on your list offer this option.
