Chance me: Top Tier (mostly Harvard, Brown, Williams, BU)

Honest opinions plz! Thanks. I’m a junior so my stats will increase before I apply (especially my GPA bc most of my classes are breezes this year)

I’m planning on going to UMass Amherst if I don’t get into a T50 bc of that sweet sweet instate tuition and 5 year masters so I don’t need safeties.

White female in Massachusetts/Rhode Island- live in MA but attend top private school in RI (feeder for Brown and other Ivys)

Awards: NONE because I go to a school that (due to religion) doesn’t really give awards or send students out for them (i have some National Latin awards and State SciOly but that’s it)

LOR: 8-9 Should be great: Honors PreCalc teacher and AP Latin teachers who are like second and third mothers to me

Essays: 8? who knows.

Your scores and GPA are competitive and you’ve clearly taken a rigorous course load. Although your applying as a math major, you want all your stem scores to be strong, so I wouldn’t suggest submitting a Chem subject test below 700. Your EC’s aren’t special and they’re a bit scattered, but they hint at your interests and it’s probably ok since you’re a STEM major with a humanities minor. Some National Latin awards is definitely not none.

So all in all, you’re a competitive applicant. You won’t be ruled out based on your numbers or extracurriculars. But your essays and recs will determine whether or not you get in. And none of us can predict further than that.

I really like your game plan. Not many students applying to T50 schools are as willing as you to either go for to their safety if they don’t get into their top choices. Make sure you can afford those T50s though. The top 20 or so give the best aid in the country but soon after, your expected contribution starts to increase a lot without merit scholarships.

The ECs, grades, and SATs look good. Without knowing the school, it is hard to evaluate the difficulty of your courses. At many private schools, the classes are at a higher level than AP classes. I would study for the SAT IIs. You don’t mention AP exams, and you probably need high subject scores to have a good chance at top 20 colleges.

Wheeler Lincoln PCD and MB will have many solid candidates at all the schools you are considering.

Hendricken Lasalle and Classical too.

You have a strong profile but even in little RI it’s a crowded field.

Have a good mixture of matches and reaches. You’ll have a wonderful school to attend in the end.

I would apply to top Ivies and top 20 schools as reaches. It looks good holistically. The ECs are good and you seem interesting. Presumably the classes are mostly harder than public school APs and you have almost perfect grades. As mentioned, I would work on the subject tests. I agree with the other poster that you will get in somewhere good. I also studied applied math and humanities.

My vote is Wheeler, not that we are voting;). My DD21 wears a green and blue kilt! Good luck and I agree that for the more selective schools, the subject tests will be important.

We probably shouldn’t guess, since OP didn’t mention it. However, I would guess Moses Brown, because it is Quaker, and that seems like the only religion that might not believe in awards.

I would get the Official Guide with 4 real tests and the Barrons guide for each subject test you are taking and study. They probably have their own classes harder than AP classes and you haven’t taken many AP exams, so top schools will want to see subject scores.

I would definitely apply to all the schools in the title.
