What are my chances? I know my GPA and test scores aren't out of this world...and it's a total reach but i figured I'd see :)

I think you ECs look good. Your course load could end up hurting you. With only 3 APs, it may be a little difficult to get in. Picking English as a major could end up hurting you as they have the best English department in the country (per USNews, anyway). But then again, your English and Reading ACT scores (as well as your Lit SAT score) are stellar.

Honestly, I don’t know if I’d say it’s a reach, but I don’t know if I’d call it a match either. It’s somewhere in that gray area for me. I think what hurts you the most is OOS and maybe course load. If you really want to go, I say you should apply. I don’t know if you should necessarily be surprised by either outcome, though.

Can you afford Berkeley? Your GPA and ACT score may hinder your acceptance.

@JuniorBengal‌ I was hoping that because my school only offers 6 APs that taking 3 out of those 6 would be okay but I see your point! All my other classes are honors however and being at a highly selective prep school i was hoping colleges would take that into consideration but I really worry about it. Thanks so much!

@auntbea I can afford it, I might need to take out a small loan but nothing major!

The UC’s don’t fund OOS students, so you need to be ready to pay $60K per year. If you can’t afford to go, it’s all a moot point.

@auntbea Its 53K and I can afford it

Actually it’s more like a general amount of $55978 per year (http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/paying-for-uc/tuition-and-cost/</a>) but Berkeley’s area is more expensive, so we generally round up to 60K for all of those “surprises” that spring up at the last minute.
Your scores may hold you back.
