I'm only a junior, so if you have an ideas for me to better my chances of being a University candidate, please share. I'm also looking for Community service/EC's that make me stand out from other applicants.

bump. Please help me!

Oh yeah, and I’ll chance back .

work on that gpa

I know. I wish I could. I think it’s because I’m taking two electives that it brings it down… or that I could be calculating it incorrectly. ):

What is your intended major?

A couples ECs and Community Service Efforts that conveys your passion/interest in a particular field could help you.

All in all, I don’t know much, but I think you’d be a match for UCLA.

Chance me? I don’t have much informationn but some suggestions would help

Is it bad that I got two 4.0’s Sophomore year. Could this be the reason it brings it down?

I’m not really sure what major. I’m interested in Visual Arts, or Graphic Design but my parents suggest that I become a pharmacist. I’m not sure UCLA has a premed program…?

bumpz…

Well, if your interested in visual arts/design at UCLA I believe (though I could be wrong) a portfolio is needed. So, in the case in which you do decide to go down the art/design path, a strong portfolio will (obviously) work in your favor

ECs and Community Service related to art and design would look awesome too.

Yeah, I know. My cousin is currently a Visual Arts/Design major there right now. She had an excellent portfolio.

I am one of the best students in my beginning arts class the teacher isn’t great. His style of teaching is very robotic, and lacks true expression. I think he has a degree in Computer Arts… I hope that my school finds a better teacher for IB Art next year, or else I won’t have a very great portfolio to send in…

Oh, sorry. I calculated my GPA incorrectly… It should be 4.23 W.

It sucks when you aren’t fond of your teacher, hopefully you’ll get one you enjoy.
Honestly, your GPA and SATs are a great match for your first choice, UCLA - as long as your portfolio is fantastic you should be fine.

I know in my area lots of summer camps look for high school art students to help out (paid) as camp counselors, looking for an opportunity like that couldn’t hurt. : ]

bump, please help

Bump. I’ll chance back.

In at UCLA, UCI, UCSD & NYU. :)

Probably not at Stanford.

The only hypothetical scores are my junior spring semester grades which are currently in progress. I’m determined to do well on my SATs as well.

Bumpbumpbump
