What are your ECs? And have you though about trying the SAT as well? Not that you shouldn’t retake the ACT, but by doing both you can see which you format you do better on and are more likely to get a better score.

@annabanabelle I did try taking the SAT, but my ACT score was higher

FAU has a direct admit to their nursing program, the only Florida public university to have such a program (UM has both direct admit AND third year transfer options). You might want consider adding FAU to your list. All your other publics, students apply to the nursing program during their sophomore year (very competitive process).

UM is a very expensive private school, so unless you have the appropriate funding sources, it might not be a good option for a nursing degree. FIU also has a nursing program and cost significantly less than UM.

Also, if you are a Florida resident, have you considered using dual enrollment to knock out some of the nursing prerequisites? You could potentially complete as much as 30 credits your senior year (if you spend your senior year on the campus of your local State College) and it is completely free.

With the exception of UF and UM, I think you have a good shot at all the other Florida universities.

Thank you! I know UM is very expensive and of course I would only go there if its financially suitable. Good to know about FAU also. I’ll definitely add it to my list! @Jamrock411

Do you know if FAU superscores the ACT @Jamrock411

@pl215382 , I’m not sure, but your stats is above the requirements for direct-admit:

You might want to look at the site below for more detail response:

Wow that was very helpful of you…thanks so much! @Jamrock411

All are in range with the exception of UF and Miami which are slight reaches

Update: first place in the Drexel competition mentioned earlier (out of 1,900) a lot of other photography awards (gold key at scholastics) and also was a juror for a photo competition at my high school

I’ve been accepted to FSU, UM, UCF, UF, and USF for Finance with a 3.7 unweighted GPA and 5.0 weighted with some merit money from UCF, USF, and UM.

My ACT was a 27 and my SAT was a 1210. Most of my ECs were based around leadership positions in sports, one club, and a job. Nothing amazing, but I did display dedication and passion for them. I never won any national or regional awards.

I did have a very distinct upward trend in grades, starting with a 3.4 and having a D my freshmen year to having around a 3.8, 3.9 gpa from my sophomore to senior year.

My rank is 29/ 770 and I did have a rigorous course load. Hope this helps.

I would consider retaking the ACT for a better chance at UF, UM, and FSU. Your GPA is high and that should help, but keep in mind that FSU’s 50th percentile is 29 and UF’s is 30. Both schools put a lot of emphasis on test scores so retaking for a 30 or higher will help you immensely.

@esaturn55 Yeah I’m definitely retaking it hoping for at least a 30 when I’m done taking it

First gen… great chances.
FAU no problem with acceptance. UCF some sort of class rank 10% thing to look into.
UNF/USF nbd.

To up your chances for UF, FSU, and UM, consider taking 3+ APs next year. These schools seem to place a lot of emphasis on course rigor. I’ve heard of highly qualified students being rejected from FSU due to a lack of AP courses. They like to see that you’re pushing yourself, especially into senior year.

I’m most likely going to take at least 3 next year @esaturn55 government, psych, and econ
