I also failed a algebra 2 class this year (due to circumstances that I may or ma not talk about in the essay) but retook it with and got an A. This coupled with my few leadership positions really hurt my app and I
and if not, any other colleges I should be considering for a career in vet? I`m planning on FSU, USF, FGCU, Pudue (Maybe) or maybe a UC or somthing.
UF looks like a match. You do want to raise your test scores a bit, and keep up with your EC’s.
Since you want to be a vet, look for schools with Colleges of Agriculture (like UF"s College of Agriculture and Life sciences, CALS), as these will have majors and options that best fit a vet.
Purdue fits the bill, as it has a very large College of Agriculture.
Auburn would be a good choice, but you may need to raise your test scores to make it affordable.

Mississippi State University is another example, and it’s more generous with OOS merit based scholarships:

Other examples could include TAMU, University of Missouri (where it’s not that hard to get in-state tuition after one year), ….
UC? University of California? Biggest challenge with a UC is cost, they don’t offer OOS merit aid and tuition is around $40K a year.
I should add that your other Florida in-state options could also work, even if they don’t have a college of agriculture. For example, UCF does offer a Zoology and Pre-Veterinary Track in it’s biology major.

Thank you so much! And would that F be extremely bad, even with the retake? I can’t appeal to get it out even so I was planning on talking about it in the additional info, but is that the write place to do it?
Sorry for all the questions! My sister had a private helped for this so my parents have no clue what to tell me.
And once again thank you so much!!
Re: your “F” - since you retook the class, will you have to report it on the SSAR? If so, the UF app gives a place on to tell them anything else about you. If it is a good story of overcoming an obstacle, I would address it.
whats ssar? is that the report where you self-report your grades? if so, I have no clue. It just shows up on my transcripts on my counselling service for school.
