Chance me: UNC-CH, NC STATE, UNCC, ECU with low gpa with upward trend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Low GPA with significant upward trend!)
I'm a current senior at public high school. I moved here from South Korea two years ago because I didn't work there and wanted to get a new opportunity for new life. The problem is that I brought my 9th grade's grades from the South Korea.

9th - 2.3 uw, 2.3 w (From South Korea)
10th - 4.0 uw, 4.25 w
11th - 3.75 uw, 4.375 w
12th - just started

OVER ALL - 3.27 uw, 3.54 w (9th + 10th + 11th), if the first semester of senior year will be counted as a gpa, I can bump it up to 3.33 uw, 3.73 w.

2000 SAT, 770 KOREAN SUBJECT TEST, 720 BIOLOGY SUBJECT TEST, 720 MATH2 TEST.

I'm really worrying about the college admission because of my freshman year gpa.

Can anybody tell me if I have chances for those schools? And any advice about the low gpa with the upward trend?

UNC-CH, NC STATE, UNCC, ECU (all instate)

p.s My extra-curricular and teacher recommendation paper will be decent. (Minority)

are you korean? and yup, you should be in for all those schools :)

I just can’t guess anything because of that 9th grade gpa…so if anybody can give me some advices, I will really be appreciated…and thanks FireLion for replying!

they dont look at 9th grade. and are u considered an int’l student? if so, then ur SAT is really really good!

Yea. I think I will be considered as an international student because I’m not a citizen yet. And really? Thanks! I heard that they are going to look at 9th grade but not as much as others…so even if I have a big improvement I was just worrying about it.

So yeah, you should even be looking at higher up colleges because you’re considered an int’l student and that SAT score is spectacular for an int’l student. english is not ur first language.

Thanks alot! Can you chance me for the uc colleges? my uc gpa is (3.81 uw, 4.45 w)
I’m planning to apply for UCLA, UC-DAVIS.
