Hey Im a Floridian IB/AP high school student with average grades... Freshman and sophomore year gpa of 3.16 with a 4.44(weighted).
For the first semester of junior year I will be getting 2 A's, 3 B's, and 3 C's :( (the C's are in my AP classes btw). I haven't taken the sat yet but through practice Sat's and the PSAT itself I'm averaging around 710 in both math and critical reading... I'm very active in sports and school clubs and currently national champion for my weight class in Taekwondo... I'm wondering if I have a chance to get into UF or not, and also curious if I have chances for other colleges in California or new York... Plz help me out I'm STRESSING

for UF your sat scores are above average but with 2 cs in junior year is not going to cut it, you need to try to bring those up to a b atleast. if your referencing the ucs you could probably get into uc santa cruz and merced and riverside. but thats because of your gpa if you could get that up you would have a chance with uc davis and possibly even berkeley please chance back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1065812-100-chance-back-chances-university-rochester.html

Yeah vie had a super rough year with the parents splitting but it’ll be highly unlikely for me to pull 2 of those C’s up… But lets say I pulled off straight A’s next semester would that help me at all?

Btw all my non AP classes are honors classes and my other EC include NHS, key club officer, multicultural club officer, 200+ service hours, and varsity soccer and track for a year. Will this help at all?

Your ECs will help a bit, but GPA comes first. You definitely need to pick it up. Also study hard for your SATs. The expected 1420 would definitely help you a lot but work on your GPa and you’ll be fine.
