Highest ACT composite: 34
Superscored (even though I know they don’t super score) is a 35 with 35 English, 35 Math, 34 Reading, and 36 Science
My gpa is what scares me the most. But I think I have a clear explanation for it being so low. On top of a difficult transition, I had undiagnosed ADD freshmen year and I made that clear on that app. Without my freshmen year grades I have roughly a 3.8 (straight A’s junior year, and about 3-4B’s and the rest A’s sophmore year, but including it I have a 3.32, but since USC looks at senior year grades and I have straight A’s thus far (might get one B), I am hoping it will rise to somewhere around a 3.37 (as if that’s any better).
I go to a private Jesuit high school that is arguably one of the toughest/best schools in my state. (not california)
Extracurricular activities might be a plus. So I am creating and leading a charity and am giving up about 150 hours of my time this year donating to homeless people and organizing the money aspect. Freshmen year I had a youtube channel that got lots of views like over 100,000 (this seems like a hit or miss, either it sounds really lame, or it sounds like i’m an enjoyable person). And obviously some other normal stuff but nothing else too big.
I think I have a really solid essay, teacher recommendation letter, and answered the USC questions really well, but then again, maybe everyone thinks they did good on that.
I’m white and male so I don’t have too much offering me that way.
I understand that my GPA automatically makes this school a reach for me, it’s just a shame, because I feel like I have really shown improvement since freshmen year, but as much as they say they do I’m not sure how much they care about that. I’m looking to go into computer science, so if anyone has any schools to recommend, I’d appreciate it because right now it’s pretty much this school or Alabama for me. Thats a really humoungous difference in academics, but I really don’t have the money to afford any other schools and Alabama is giving me a full tuition scholarship (as they accept my weighted GPA of 3.62), and I’m looking for one of the decently big college experience schools and there’s not too many of those that I’m in the range for that will also give me money.
Also, should I consider taking the ACT again if I believe I could get a 35? I’m really hoping not too as I’m not sure how much of a difference that would actually make.
Thank you for actually reading this all
