I am interested in attending UT-Austin because of their strong compsci and business programs. Here are my stats:

-White male, NC resident
-3.67 UW, 4.5 Weighted
-32 ACT (awaiting results from last weekend’s testing, hoping for 33 or 34)
-Around top 15-20% of class
-EC’s: founded/ am president of cancer charity club that has raised about 1400 and counting in the past year, captain of varsity swim/dive team that had won state championships, captain of the cross country team, senior leader (president) of ambassadors club at school, NHS, beta club
-work: head dive coach at a local pool over last summer, worked in smoothie shop freshman-sophomore year, lifeguarded junior-senior year
-take very rigorous courses
-currently making all A’s my first semester of senior year, which includes hard classes like AP Calc

I heard OOS admission to UT is difficult, but I’m not sure to what extent. I would appreciate any input. Thanks!

Low chance for comp sci or business. There are a lot of Texas residents with stats like yours that are not admitted.

This is just my opinion. You have the stats for some very good schools.

could I apply undeclared and then transfer into McCombs or CompSci? @txstella

I’ve heard that it is very difficult to transfer into McCombs, Cockrell and CompSci. I don’t think that would be a good plan.

I heard the same thing too. It is extremely difficult to transfer to business,computer science or engineering. Don’t take the risk.

Your ranking is not good enough. My child got in with SAT score of 2320 and ranked top 3%.
