I'm a junior in high school and University of Tennessee Knoxville and Ole Miss are my two top choices. I am out of state. When I finish high school I will have taken three AP classes. My GPA will be about 3.3 when I finish. I have not taken the SAT yet, but I am taking it June 7th. On the ACT I received a 25 the first time without preparing for it. I am taking it again June 14th and I have been practicing everyday. I'm hoping I will get a 27 this time. I am in the top 50% of my class. I have been in various clubs during high school. So, what are my chances? Any response would be great.

Ole Miss has an auto-admit policy if a freshman applicant meets the following requirements (which your stats above certainly do). This is taken from their website:

Nonresidents of Mississippi
The University of Mississippi is proud that our student body is enriched by a diverse pool of students from around the nation and the world. Nonresident applicants with a 2.50 GPA or higher on the College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) or equivalent CPC of the applicant’s state of residence and a composite ACT score of 20 or higher (or 940 or higher on the SAT critical reading/mathematics) will be granted regular admission to the University.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much!

What’s your intended major?

You would likely be accepted to both, but have you asked your parents if they will pay the full OOS costs for these schools? if they will pay all costs, then fine. If not, then they wont be affordable.

Ole Miss - Automatic acceptance
UTennessee - raise your ACT and you’ll have a chance
