Will I be accepted into Ole Miss?

I am a junior in high school right now and I live in Tennessee.

My top colleges right now are:
University of Tennessee
University of Alabama
University of Mississippi

My grades are:
3.0 weighted GPA
2.9 unweighted GPA
20 ACT
1470 SAT

I'm having trouble with the ACT and my scores don't seem to be good enough for UT and Bama. Now it's down to Mississippi.

So far what do you all think? Will I get accepted?

Hi bigmike17. Because you are a junior you have time to raise your ACT with some prep! If you start now you can take the ACT and SAT at the end of May/early June.

From my understanding, these schools admit the higher scores first, then later take lower scores. So you may not hear immediately, but I bet you will end up getting admitted to some of the schools you listed.

You may want to add Auburn to your list. I know 2 students with comparable stats and both were admitted to Auburn.

Also, doesn’t UT super-score the ACT (takes highest sub-score from each test over time)? I read that somewhere: http://admissions.utk.edu/apply/requirements/</a> There is a LOT to be said for paying in-state tuition. Do not give up on your in-state option! Good luck!

You need to ask your parents how much they’ll pay each year. they may be fine with paying all the OOS costs…or they may not be.

do you qualify for HOPE in Tenn?

ask your parents how much they’ll pay.

Well if I go to the university of Alabama my parents will most likely retire and move to Mobile so I should get in state tuition after the first year. With Mississippi the out of state tuition isn’t extremely bad like other schools. I thinks it’s around 17k

Alabama - High Match
Ole Miss - You’ll get in.
UTennessee - Reach

@bigmike17‌ As I think was mentioned, keep working on your test scores to maximize your options. Also, Ole Miss’ non-resident admissions will be increasing in the coming years. So, check out this site to see the updates. http://admissions.olemiss.edu/applying-to-ole-miss/freshmen/</a>

Good luck in the application processes!
