Chance me - Vanderbilt, Northwestern, UNotre Dame, and Dartmouth

Hello, I am currently a junior at Indiana’s top public high school but I’m really interested in receiving insight from this community as to what the current probability of my admittance into Vandy, Northwestern, U Notre Dame, and Dartmouth may be; hopefully the criticism I receive will enable me to refine and bolster my stats in ways that will hopefully guarantee my acceptance to my dream schools.

Stats:
GPA: 3.85 UW, 4.2 W
SAT: 1510/1600
ACT: 34 composite

Classes:
9th
Algebra 2
2D and 3D art
English 9 Honors
Biology I
Spanish II

10th
Trigonometry
Pre-Calculus
English 10 Honors
Spanish III
Chemistry I
Advanced Art History

(my first two years of high school were completed at an unremarkable rural high school which contained an utter paucity of AP classes and no weighted gpas)

11th (current semester)
Foundations of the American Experience
Advanced Spanish III
AP Calculus AB
Human Anatomy and Physiology
AP Physics I
American Literature

(next semester) I plan on appending additional classes that have piqued my interests and will be maintaining a total of 10.25 credits for this residual half of the school year

  • AP Statistics
  • Introduction to Bioethics
  • Zoology

My grades are alright; I currently have a B+ in AP Physics and my teacher hasn’t updated my American Lit grade in practically 30 years so it unnervingly leers at me in its inaccurate B+ 87 form

Also my school does not rank students and I would consider the classes quite difficult (bEsT PuBlIc HiGh sChoOl iN iNdIanA)

Also I think I’m going to take another stab at both the SAT and ACT come spring and I also am racking up community service hours (I currently have done 25 but intend on augmenting that amount to at least 50 by the year’s end)

So uh yeah I know I’m not yet in the position to be agonizing over the college admissions process but I would greatly appreciate any comments and feedback that anybody has to offer!

Oh also I’m receiving my PSAT score on Monday (as I can confer with my counselor to receive it at an early juncture) and I believe that I’ll qualify as a Semifinalist in the National Merit Scholar Competition

There is nothing anyone can do to “guarantee” acceptance to the schools on your list, short of having your parents donate a seven figure + sum for a building.

Your stats will put you in the ballpark anywhere.

The best thing you can do for yourself is focus your energies on match and safety schools. Reach schools are just that, reaches for every student.
