chance me villanova, nyu, fordham

hey guys, i was wondering if you could chance me for villanova (#1 school), fordham, and nyu

i have around a 3.9 gpa, and am in the top 3% of my school. I am in all honors classes besides AP's.
The AP's I'm taking/have taken are
AP Euro
APUSH
AP Calc BC
AP Physics B
AP English Lit
AP U.S. Gov

I have decent community service, but not fabulous.

my sats (superscored)
math- 660
cr - 670
writing - 680 10 essay
composite : 2010

im retaking for the last time next week so maybe a little increase, not sure.
im applying RD for villanova, nyu and fordham.

what do you think my chances are
saftey (doubt it ahah)
match
reach
?
thanks!

???

Ehh the SAT is pretty low and you haven’t given any EC’s, so I’d go with Villanova a low reach and NYU mid-high reach, don’t know about Fordham

ecs:
secretary to community service club
internship with congressional candidate
cooking club
latin club
national honor society
i have around 80-100 hrs of community service

awards:
national latin exam
national honor society
perfect attendance

considering you are basically in 60-75th percentile for SAT @ villanova and you have a higher than average GPA for villanova freshmen I’d say it is a match

not sure what praying4luck is talking about

Grades are great, but your low-ish SAT might suggest grade inflation. However, your classes are rigorous so they might overlook that. ECs are a bit weak (Cooking Club?) besides your internship and community service.

Villanova: low reach (high match if essay is great/SATs are bumped up a bit)
NYU: reach
Fordham: guessing low match? (don’t know much about this school)

why are people saying he is a reach for villanova when he exceeds the average admitted? am i missing something?

Believe you have realistic chance at Fordham which we visited and is a great school.

Fordham: low match
Villanova and NYU: match to low reach

James, the middle 50% range for admitted students at VU is 1330-1440. Therefore his SAT for admitted students would be in the 25th percentile (link: [Villanova University: Admission Statistics](http://www1.villanova.edu/villanova/admission/overview/undergrad/statistics.html)). His gpa and class rank should get him over the hump. Intended major will make some difference since he is a bit low in Math for certain majors (like engineering). Still, it should be close enough.

To Collegebound: let Villanova know that it is your first choice and I think you will be accepted. The scores for admitted students versus enrolled students always varies. Letting them know that you are likely to enroll will help your odds. Your grades and rank are terrific and your SATs are good too. If I had to bet, I would bet you get into all three.
