Please Chance me- Villanova.

I know this is still a little early as I am only in my early junior year of high school, but I have recently been looking into to what some colleges want/expect in an applicant. I am strongly considering Villanova. I am very interested in finance and accounting so I will almost certainly be applying to a business school. I am a white male from a middle-class family living in New York.

MY GPA: 4.0 throughout my entire high school career (out of 100 my GPA usually is around ~97, unweighted). My GPA was never below a 95 out of a scale of 100 for any quarter. I am not sure what my GPA is on a weighted scale.

Courses taken: 9th grade- All Honors (Bio, Math A/B, English 9, etc.)

10th grade- again, All Honors- English 10, Math B, Chem, Italian 3A, etc., with the exception of AP Euro (I received a 98 final average in the class. However, I got a 3 on the exam, unfortunately)

11th grade- AP Art History, AP US, AP Language and Comp (all 95+ so far; 100 in AP AH); Pre-Calc, Physics Honors, Italian 4A, and Honors Cad (I was considering architeture as possible major, but I have decided otherwise).

I plan on taking AP Literature, AP Gov't, AP Economics, Calculus BC, College Accounting, AP Stats in 12th grade.

Extra Activities:
-Habitat for Humanity (9th Grade/11th Grade/will join again in 12th)
-Junior Statesmen of America- officer (11/will join again in 12th)
-DECA (11/future12)
-National Honor Society (11/future12)
-others but they are more trivial and unrelated to my major (I don't feel like listing them all and I am sure you don't feel like reading all of them).

I have taken PSATs, but I only received an 1800 (640 math; 600 crit. reading). I was very upset, but it was my first time taking any sort of SAT. I will work hard to increase this grade when I take the real test.

I am certain that I am in the top 10% of my class and I will almost definitely be in the top 5%. I have not taken my real SAT or ACT yet. I am aware that this is not the most organized list and definitely not a complete list of my high school career. I know that it is tough to make an assessment without knowing specifically where I stand both grade-wise and rank-wise, so I apologize for that.

Personally, I feel that my grades and the courses I have taken are at or above Villanova's standards, but my PSAT score is worrying me.

Again, I am most interested in Villanova School of Business, so if you can tell me if my grades and scores align with their standards or where I need to get my grades to be, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.

You have a very good chance of getting in  And by the way, do not beat yourself over the PSAT score. I am sure there have been applicants who have been admitted to Villanova with a 1800 on the actual thing! Keep your head up!
You definitely have a fantastic shot!! Just raise the test scores, and you should be in!
GOOD LUCK!!!

Nova business school is much harder than the other schools on campus, the business school gets a lot of press (business week) and great corporate contacts, i think your grades and courses are great, class rank is good, but i would be a bit worried on SAT scores if you do not improve from your psat’s, i suggest a course to prepare, it really helped me get over the hump and get into Nova business school
