Emory I think is a low reach, it all depends on how heavy your reader considers raw academic data. Your ecs are great, but comparatively to other Emory applicants, they might unfortunately be just a little above average. The good thing is your GPA is trending the right way. I wish you all the best, keep up the good work. Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1567485-chance-me-duke-ed.html

I also think Emory would be a high match to low reach. Your uwGPA is likely below 25% (3.73) and your ACT is right at 50% (mid 50 30-33). Their acceptance rate is 26.5%. Your chance is probably around that level. Don’t be fooled by the outliners that got in with scores/GPA much below admission average. Admission stat is the only reliable reference. Even if it is a reach, it does not mean you have no chance. But it would misleading if someone take these “reach” but accepted cases as a norm.

You’re really set. Scores are on par, and I’m sure your experience make absolutely great stories for essays and supplementals. The coach thing is a plus also. I think you have a very good shot.

Bump for fun

I think you are a shoe in at all those schools. Your scores are above average for all of them and emory ed definitely looks like a match.

You seem to be a top sports student with really great academics too. I think you’ll easily get into any university you want because everyone likes well-rounded students who are good at sports and academics.

I’m going to bump this because my 1st quarter grades were just finalized…not too happy cause I was cheated a little bit with my bio grade. Anyway…

Humanities (English course): A
AP Studio Art: A-
AP Biology: B+
AP Statistics: B
Calculus: B
Phys Ed: Null (obviously, lol, I was doing physical therapy 5x a week)

Long story with bio. I should have had an A- but whatever.

Weighted GPA for 1st quarter is 4.05, unweighted 3.4. How am I holding out? My grades appear to be steadily improving from last year as I recover from surgery.

All your schools are either safeties or low reaches except for Emory and Tulane. But, your talking to the coaches will help a lot so I think you could get in all of those schools!

If they are all safeties or low reaches except for Emory and Tulane, what do you consider Emory and Tulane to be? Matches? Reaches?

EMORY ED- low reach
TULANE EA-match
NORTHEASTERN EA-match/low reach
UMIAMI EA-match
BOSTON U RD-match
NYU RD-match
SYRACUSE RD-match

Good luck! Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1577930-yet-another-chance-post-check-out-maybe.html
