Background info: MUST READ:
[ul]
[li] I am currently in contact with the Track coach at Emory and we speak back and forth a lot. I’m not officially being recruited, but he wants me. Not sure how much pull D3 coaches have. I am also in close contact with the coach at Tulane, he wants me as well.
[/li]

[li] I just got surgery on my back on August 9th. I had a herniated disc the ENTIRE year, and it drastically affected my life, from depression, to insomnia, to 20 full school days missed from not being able to walk or sit at times. (20 school days is an entire month missed…to put it in perspective).
[/li]

[li] I really wanted to make a comeback after my sophomore year, and while my grades did improve, they didn't improve as much as I wanted them to because of my time constraints, obviously. And considering I didn't get my operation done in the school year so I could still compete in the spring, most of my time was centered around just being able to sleep and walk without a considerable amount of pain. If I didn't compete this spring I wouldn't be able to compete in college, so I kind of had to sacrifice a lot of my life just for that. So, I will have a bunch more time to focus on my grades as opposed to the last year.[/li][/ul]

Letters of recommendation:
Pretty good/awesome in some cases

Essays:
I'm quite a good writer, they are going to be pretty sick. No worry about that.

Nearly All honors classes through high school except math (but I was still one year ahead) and no english honors Junior year. Basically had straight B+’s, this year shows a big comeback.

Senior Schedule + grades:
AP Biology: A
AP Statistics: A
AP Studio Art: A
Calculus: A-
Humanities: A-
(Second Semester) Personal financial literacy: A

Everything looks great man, your act and grades all look to be around Emory’s average (if not better). Your extracurriculars and the fact that you have been getting looks from coaches are also great. I’d say you have a good shot at all those schools.

Goodluck!

P.S. I have seen your squat videos on youtube haha…youre really strong man…

Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1564393-chances-being-accepted-into-isenberg-school-management-umass-amherst.html</a></p>

Thanks! Also my GPA is weighted, not sure if it’s still in the range :)

PS: thanks lol, it’s hard work! lots of research about the nervous system and bio leads to gains :)

Honestly, you seem like you have excellent chances at all of those, WITH scholarships. Plus your athleticism is a strong point, any college, regardless of D status looks favorably (at least in my family’s experience) upon that. Tulane’s track coach probably has a decent amount of pull, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that either. Also, your EC’s are god-like. You’re pretty much set ;D, good luck, thanks for chancing me!

Yeah you’re fine. You have great stats for those schools. Emory is a slight reach, but being in touch with the track coach will help.

I think you’re 100% in to everywhere except NYU and Emory. I think you’ll be fine at NYU, especially if you’re essays are great. And as far as Emory goes, your application would make you an extremely competitive applicant, and it also helps that you’re talking to the track coach. I would say you’ll most likely be accepted into Emory!

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1559653-chance-me-unc-uva-vanderbilt.html</a></p>

Thanks everyone, but BUMP!

Also, I have visited both Emory and Tulane.

With the amount of ECA, I think it’s safe to assume your essays will be great. Not really sure about the other colleges but I think NYU is a match or a high match

I think for Emory ED, you have a great shot, especially with your athleticism. I think with your situation and scores you should definitely be applying to some more competitive schools as well. Good luck!

Thanks!! Which other schools do you think?

You are a committed, unique and great candidate for all of these schools! I think you have good chances at all! Remember that admissions is a crapshoot, but seriously I think you will be set. Good luck!

I think you are a good match with any of the schools, the ECs and athleticism play a key role as well  good luck! Chance me back? :)

Honestly I think you’re fine. I don’t know what your unweighted is but from what I can tell you are matches at all of these schools.
Chance Back:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1532089-chance-me-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

It’s like a 3.4-3.5 i think, but with the first semester of senior year included, my weighted will be a 3.95 and unweighted a 3.5-3.6.

Bumppppppppp

Thanks for chancing me.

Emory ED: high match
Tulane EA: match
Northeastern EA: high match
Miami EA: low match
BU RD: low match
NYU RD: low reach
Syracuse RD: low match
UConn RD: safety

It looks great, Match I would say. Except Boston, which is a low reach I guess.

Everything seems good to me, though I’m a little concerned about your GPA. I think your excellence in track & field makes up for it, especially for Emory since you are speaking to the coach. I think you’ll have a nice shot at Emory EA!
Make sure you include your injury in that special circumstance portion of the Common App so adcomms know what you had to go through! NYU is a reach and the others, I think you’ve got a good shot at.

I got recruited by Emory for track, and I also ended up applying ED and getting accepted. If you need some advice, I can help you.
