Thank you for your time, I would really appreciate a comprehensive response. Be honest, I can take it

Hey. I think that despite your lower GPA you have a good chance at least for one of the above schools. I think CMU, Northwestern and Vandy are probably high match or low reaches. I think that NYU, Boston University are low matches/matches. Who knows with the Ivies but your research is an extremely strong points. You’ve already distinguished yourself quite well.

Very Impressive, Id say (as you probably know) your chances are mediocre at best for HYPS, however i’d say they’re probably a low reach–applying to all of them may be your best bet since you’ve got a chance at each one.

Your weighted GPA seems a little high considering the number of AP classes taken and your unweighted gpa, does your school give you a bonus for honors classes?

Your a match for NYU, low match BU, and i’d say your most likely in Mich–You should note that NYU is going to be by far the most expensive unless your parents make over 200k.
Carnagie Mellon you’ll certaintly be accepted, Northwestern and vanderbilt are about 70/30 (very likely that you might be accepted to both)
U Chicago would be a high match

Thank you for your feedback @IvyStruck and if you want me to chance you just post the link

@ContextisCeE thank you very much, and yes my school gives bonus for honors classes, which is why my weighted GPA is so different from unweighted. I just finished chancing you

@mayajumbalaya Honestly, your GPA shouldn’t be too big of a deal because of how high your SAT is and how focused AND exemplary your extracurricular activities are. Obviously, if you start off senior year strong, maybe applying RD can show the boost in your GPA, which is the only remote “flaw” in your application.

I think you are a sureshot into schools like NYU, Boston U, Vandy, and UMichigan. As for the Ivies and top schools, it may come down to the passion in your essays, which i think you have a good chance to show based on all your research and success.

Very impressive! Your W GPA is very high, I don’t think there is anything to worry about. Even if colleges knew your UW GPA, I think you have enough to offset it.

Thank you @iluvfood and I chanced you!
@ajk1998 thanks, if you ever want me to chance you just post the link

I think that your interest in science is clearly evident through your ECs, which is great. Trust me, being able to show others that you are passionate about the topic you want to major in and have had good leadership positions in that field is great. However, I feel like there is nothing else in your resume except science. When I was visitng all the Ivys last week, many of the admission officers stated that they want students who show diversity. Yes you are interested in Science, and yes you are doing lab research, but they colleges want more than that. They want to see that you also are joining a music club, and exploring new things, or trying skiing for the first time, or running your first 5K marathon. You get the picture, they want to have students who will be involved in the college outside of their major, and will make the university a diverse experience for all. This is my opinion on your resume, if you don’t agree with me, I can understand that. Please chance me back and be brutally honest with me. I rather know the truth than get sugarcoated tips. Thanks!

To the contrary, I think that your interest in science shines through so much like a true passion. Competitive schools are looking also for true depth of participation in extracurriculars, and you definitely have that! You’re clearly qualified for all of these schools, and whether or not you are admitted will come down to the vicissitudes in the admissions process.

Your GPA is certainly not too low to immediately turn off the Ivy Leagues, so I wouldn’t worry about that, especially when coupled with your standardized test scores.

Also, we’re seemingly applying to mostly the same schools, so maybe we’ll see each other somewhere down the line if we’re lucky!

Your app is awesome! I think you would definitely get in to NYU and BU. Although your GPA is a little low, your publications, experience, and awards will definitely set you apart from others. However, Ivy Leagues are very unpredictable with their acceptances, so you might still get rejected.

Honestly, I know how hard it is to get into top 20 schools, but with your high SAT and excellent ECs (strong focus in science), I think you will definitely get into one of your top choices, such as Columbia, esp. ED. NYU and Boston U are really low matches. You might get waitlisted at Tufts. Chance back?: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1778302-chance-an-asian-yale-duke-williams-p1.html

Are you first author on the cardiology publication?

What is your intended major?

Wow, your stats and ECs are amazing!! With both of these factors excellent, you have a very strong chance for all the top schools you listed. As an applicant also interested in Columbia ED, I’d say you have an amazing shot! Best of luck!

Your test scores and ECs are extraordinary and your GPA is very good as well.

Columbia (ED) - high match (You have a very good chance)
other Ivies (including Stanford) - never know with the Ivies, but you’ll defninitely get in a few of them
Carnegie Mellon - match
Northwestern - match
Vanderbilt - low/match
Tufts - low/match
UChicago - high match
NYU - match
Boston University - low/match
UMich - match

I have one question for you… how did you get published in soooo many academic journals? I have conducted a few research projects in finance and would love to get one of them published in a journal. Great job!

Honestly, with your stats, you have a decent chance almost anywhere. Ivys should always be considered reach, but anything that isn’t considered super top notch you have a very good chance to get into. I’m also applying to Boston University - which for you, I’m nearly positive you’ll get into.

Could you chance me back?

Columbia (ED): high match/low reach
Stanford: low reach
Carnegie Mellon: high match
Northwestern: match
Vanderbilt: high/match
Tufts: match
UChicago: high match
NYU: low match
Boston University: low match
UMich: match

Wow! Your transcript and overall resume look really competitive and impressive! Honestly, I see nowhere where you could possibly need to improve. Your “low” GPA is okay, as the rest of your stats make up for it. Good luck!

Chance me back please??

Wow you’re an incredibly impressive candidate. I saw you’ll get into half of the Ivies at least despite your GPA which isn’t that bad. I’d be surprised if you didn’t get into NYU, BU and UMich too, but I suggest adding a real safety school so the “lower” top schools such as these don’t think you’re using them as a safety and reject you for that. Best of luck!

Hi guys, just as an update to whoever comes upon this post. I ended up applying to UPenn ED, and was rejected. I’m applying to other schools RD now, so I’ll update with results on those schools. So far I was accepted into Rutgers. I’ll keep you guys updated!

How can someone with such an impressive academic profile be rejected from Upenn? Well, their loss. Mark my words. You’ll get into atleast one of the Ivies (if you’ve applied to them that is).

Wow! Your application is great, if not amazing!
I think your EC’s/Awards/Work Experience, etc. all center around a single passion so that’s terrific, compared to many other applicants who have EC’s everywhere.
Your GPA and test scores are exceptional as well: your GPA definitely will not hold you back (with you’re EC’s, your GPA will hardly matter as much).
Just curious, were you able to get into Columbia ED?
