@JaredJones902 , what precisely is it that you want? The silence in response to your Chance Me thread is because we are tired of posting the same thIngs: whether you get accepted will probably depend on your LoRs ( which you say will be great!), your essays (which you don’t mention, but I’m sure will be great!), etc. These are all things that we can’t read or see. Your grades and scores are fine.

Since you caught me in a snarky mood this morning, let me close by adding that your “VERY, VERY competitive private school [that] sends over 40% to Ivys” should have taught you that the plural of Ivy is Ivies. [/snark]

Good luck, and believe it or not, I actually mean that. Be sure that you present yourself as someone who would make Yale a better place for your having matriculated. That’s the secret sauce to being admitted.

@JaredJones902 - I had a similar reaction to your chance me thread, but deleted it. There is so much advice on this thread already from former and current students, as well as their long-suffering, advice-offering, parents. But from my perspective as a rising first year student, your original post seems like a prank, it sounds so incredible. I don’t know where you find the hours in the day to play varsity basketball and baseball; be concertmaster of your school orchestra; edit a science magazine; engage in unspecified “research”; perform lots of community service and perform well academically in a “VERY VERY competitive private school.”

It is impossible to figure out from your post what you actually care about - academically, athletically or socially. If I were you, I’d figure that out before you write your essays.

Thank you!

I see what you are saying…Everything seems more smooth on paper…trust me nothing I do is easy, but I feel like i have too many passions.

Chinese–higher bar. Legacy and feeder school will help. I think your chances are good, but be humble and write great essays! Good Luck!
