Whats up.
I just wanted to know what my chances are for these schools--some of them are a major stretch but i dont want to regret not trying to apply: Clemson, NC state, Howard Uni., East Carolina, Appalachain State, Chapel Hill, UNC-Charlotte.
My scores: 1190 SAT; 3.0 something High school; 2.8 gpa at community college with 29 credits. No volunteer work(shame).
i live in nc, african-american,middle class household income

RE: Clemson -it’s expensive for out of state students and unfortunately you would not qualify for the OOS tuition waiver. Also, Clemson isn’t throwing out a lot of money these days, so if the finances are an issue and you don’t want to take on lots of loans then I would lean towards the NC schools. Good luck!

hmm you definitely have a shot at getting in but I wouldn’t say there’s a very good chance. Your SAT score is good but your GPA isn’t and usually people with a not so good GPA are going to need a really good SAT to make up for that or either proof that they went to a very competitive high school.

Have you looked at UNC-Asheville or UNC-Greensboro? Those are better schools in my opinion than the other NC public schools that you listed (UNC-Asheville is an excellent school)

Thanks. I will look into Asheville
