I'm going to apply RD for computer/electrical engineering.

ACT: 31 composite (33 math, 30 reading, 28 science)
GPA (weighted): 4.5
AP: Calc AB (4), USH (4)

My school only offers one AP to juniors (USH) but I was able to take calculus last year. In all, my school offers 4 AP classes.

EC’s: Founder of my school’s Science and Engineering club, VP of Spanish club, Secretary of History club, member of National Honor Society, member of Beta Club

Volunteered 50+ hours at the Natural Science Center, was awarded a full-ride to NC A&T robotics camp by my school district

My first SAT IIs were weak, so I retook them. I’ll have the results on 12/20.

Hey there
I’m a soph in ECE and I was accepted as a restricted to CIT (as in, I could be any engineering major besides ECE) However, if you do very well in the introductory course and show them that you really want to be an ECE major (the worst you could do is say “I want to be in ECE because of $$”), then you have a pretty good shot.
So apply to CIT, and don’t forget to apply to more than one school (I know a girl who got accepted to SCS but rejected from CIT, so don’t assume a “school hierarchy”)
Make sure your essays and your CIT essay especially are very persuasive.

Thanks a ton! I don’t have any kind of internship or anything that most of the people on this forum seem to have, lol. I’m from a super rural part of North Carolina.

Math Level II: 640
Chem: 630

I made a 570 on the physics, so I don’t think I should send it or anything.

Will this hurt me or anything?

I can’t really say it will be the only factor they consider, but for CIT I think you should definitely work on any kind of math. I bombed the CR section of SATs but got perfect on math and got in mid to high on math II. (with decent essays and being a minority got waitlisted) However, you should only retake if you know you’ll improve by a lot…(that’s what somebody told me once)
Even though you don’t have the internships, I think that having the engineering club, volunteering and robotics camp looks very good.
