Chance Me?

Hi there!

-Junior
-4.6 weighted GPA (3.8 unweighted?)
-2120 SAT, but will be taking again
-By the end of my senior year, I will have taken 8-9 APs.
-5 on the AP World History Exam, others have not been taken yet (probably won’t do so hot on statistics, but looking good for US & European history)
-NHS and French Honors Society member
-I created and lead a school club, and am the co-leader of a district club
-I was accepted my state’s Governor’s School for French
-I worked as an international nanny last summer
-Volunteer at a state historical site
-Special Olympics volunteer 5+ years
-Will probably have 200+ volunteer hours
-French club, drama club, class council
-I’m in the top quarter of my school for class rank, which I’m sure may look bad. We’re an extremely competitive school of ~330 students in my grade
-Took part in US-Belgium exchange program 3 years

I will probably apply early decision, but will wait to take subject tests until after the initial round. I also don’t play any sports, which might negatively impact my chances.

Thanks!

It’s always hard to “chance” students. The admissions process is complicated and often arbitrary. I can say that you seem to be a hardworking, high-achieving, and motivated student. Those qualities make all the difference. My prediction is that you’ll have no trouble being accepted to GTown.

Best of luck.
