Chance me

I’m a female student with a UC GPA of 3.86 and I got a 32 on my ACT. I have participated in a lot of extracurricular activities that help show my enthusiasm for my intended major. I’m applying with the intended major of religious studies. I created an entire youth program and worship band at my church. My personal statements are also well-written and clever. I have taken 5 AP classes and 2 UC honors classes. I’m taking 3 AP classes my senior year. Will colleges take those grades into consideration? What do you think my chances are of getting into UCSB?

UCSB: Match
Although your UC GPA is below the average of 4.05, your ACT is competitive and UCSB considers essays and EC’s heavily in their application review. You are also applying to less than popular major.

Good Luck.

Thank you for the reply! If it helps I have over 200 volunteer hours, Internship experience, work experience, and I’ve grown up in an Italian- American family. My first language was Italian. Will it stand out to the admissions board that i have had to overcome the language barrier?

I am hopeful but, encourage you to have a plan B. Apply to UCSC and UCR too.

Of no advantage for admission.

Since you say you took the ACT, less common out here in CA, are you an OOS applicant?
