Hey guys! I am applying to NYU Steinhardt for Applied Psychology through Early Decision. What are my chances?
A little about me:
- Nationality: Kazakh/Lebanese
- Gender: Female
- Graduation Date: May 27th, 2017
- Curriculum: MYP (9-10) IB Diploma (11-12)
- Cumulative GPA: 3.50 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) *
- Cumulative Rank: N/A
- SAT/ACT: Taking both in the fall
- 3.50 GPA (A's and B's) - I take rigorous courses and I am planning to bring my GPA up in the fall of my senior year. Perhaps it's quite low, but IB diploma is fairly challenging and I am aware that American universities take that into consideration. I do have Dyscalculia, which is a brain-based condition that makes it hard to make sense of numbers and math concepts. It is often described as arithmetic dyslexia. It does indeed drastically bring down my grade point average, though it kind of works to my advantage in terms of explaining why that is. I possess professional diagnosis and papers to support that.
- Predicted IB Score: 37 (I will most probably apply with my predicted scores, though I am afraid I might end up getting rescinded. Does anyone know the process? Once you get accepted (ED) with your IB predicted scores, is your acceptance unconditional?

I also have great teacher recommendations coming my way! Both teachers are super sincere and genuine.
My visual arts teacher who holds the following degrees: B.A., University of California, San Diego, M.F.A., California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), Valencia
- My English teacher: M.A.T., Northeastern University
I don’t live in the U.S (I’ve lived in 5 countries, and I am a current resident of 3) and I can afford to be full pay. Thoughts? Thank you in advance.
