Chance Me?

Hello, I am currently a junior in highschool from a small town outside of a Buffalo, New York. I am stressed about my grades all the time and I always get nervous about being accepted into good colleges. I hope to attain a job in aerospace engineering, meaning I would like a degree in Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Can anybody help me figure out if I would get accepted into the college I hope for?

My Academics

GPA: I don’t know what it is weighted yet

I also took Chemistry at a local college, not at my highschool

My Top Choices in Schools

1.) Cornell
2.) GA Tech
3.) Purdue
4.) Notre Dame
5.) U Mich
6.) U Dayton
7.) RIT
8.) U Buffalo
9.) FIT
10.) (open to suggestions)

Thank you!

Your stats are really good, try and get that SAT up though. However, your ECs don’t really show any focus towards engineering or aerospace engineering. You might want to try to start engaging in ECs that show your interest in engineering to colleges like an engineering or robotics club, or maybe some sort of physics club.

With your current stats, I’d say:
1.) Cornell: reject/waitlist
2.) GA Tech: waitlist/accept
3.) Purdue: accept
4.) Notre Dame: reject
5.) U Mich: reject
6.) U Dayton: accept
7.) RIT: accept/waitlist
8.) U Buffalo: accept
9.) FIT: accept

For others, maybe look at other good engineering schools like UIUC, URochester, Clemson, or maybe even reach for a place like Emory.

I’m actually going to be doing an internship in the Aerospace Engineering department of MOOG this summer which I am excited about!

Try to up your GPA and test score. Right now, your GPA is below admission average of UMich while your SAT is below their admission range. Indeed, most of the schools on our list are reaches of different levels.
