Chance Me!

Hello all!

First off, my name is Zak and I’m a 23 year old business student from NJ.

I thought I’d provide a little background before getting into my numbers.

-I began my college career at a local CC as a science major.
-Received a 4.0 my first semester.
-Not long into my second semester, realized I was not as passionate about science as I thought I was and stopped going to class (did not withdraw) which messed up my GPA to say the least. Went back to school and stopped going to class again…

  • Switched my major to business. Got my sh*t together.
  • Brought my GPA back up to a 3.6 by the time I graduated from CC.
  • On pace to graduate with 3.85 GPA from a university in May of 2018.
  • Earned an LSAT score of 170.

Like I mentioned, I’m from NJ but would like to practice law in NY. Columbia is my desired location but I would consider any T14 school; maybe even a top 25 school.

Any insight on my chances?

What’s your cumulative GPA, if you take the CC + university GPAs together?

I’d say that Cornell is yours for the asking, and Columbia maybe (assuming CC + university grades both count).

I would take lots and lots of easy classes at your university to get your cumulative GPA up even more.

Thanks for the reply! I’d be extremely happy with Cornell as well. Any thoughts on Cornell?

It’s an Ivy and is “T-14” so it should be somewhere where I’d be happy to go.
