Very strong essays
Your SAT is very low for UW. Being out of state really hurts you as well as the admit rate for OOS state students will likely under 40% this year. Also, everyone likes to think that their essays are really strong, can I take a look? Did you write anything for additional information? What biology classes did you take? What’s your senior load, your picture is very incomplete right now.
My senior courseload:
AP Bio
AP World
Precal
Honors Latin 4
Honors World lit
Maine studies
Psychology
I wrote my main essay about my brother, who has autism and how my experiences with him have allowed me to grow and develop as a person. My supplemental was about my passion for biology, and how I discovered my passion while working with my aunt and uncle ( biologist) in WA.
I took biology my sophomore year, I’m taking AP bio my senior year
Although your SAT is very low, it fortunately won’t be considered as much as your very high GPA (I base this on data collected from graduates at my OOS school who had high GPAs and low SATs, but still got in). Your extracurriculars are also quite good, and considering that you got a 4 on the AP Lang exam, I will give you the benefit of the doubt when you say your wrote good essays. Your SAT certainly hurts your chances significantly, but you might have a shot at getting in. Good luck!
