Chance me!

You have great test scores for a Junior and your GPA isn’t that high but I’m sure you can improve it. I personally think that you should add more safeties, especially since you’re international and low income. Some of those schools should be taken off too, like BU, cause it’s really expensive unless you’re planning on applying for the full tuition scholarship which you’ll only have a slim chance for.

Bump pls. I wanna get as much insight as possible

Your list is very reach-heavy. Are all of these schools affordable? Have you run the Net Price Calculators? Can your parents contribute to college expenses?

@suzy100 yes they can

GPA is too low for most or those schools. Even the ones you have a good shot at, your stats are average, which gives you a 33% average chance of getting in. You need some safety schools in there. Otherwise you run the risk of getting declined or deferred by all of them and you end up going to a community college for your first semester :slight_smile:

@bbixl145 I should have been more clear. How much can your parents contribute each year? Boston College costs about 70K per year. Did you run the Net Price Calculator to see what kind of aid they may give you and can your parents afford that?

@suzy100 yes we ran the calculator and most of them came up to 4000-5000 a year and with scholarships my parents can afford that. Do you have any tips on winning or getting scholarships? How fo I find legit websites?

@coolguy40 I have more safties but I didnt list them. But is there a way adcoms can over look my low gpa? I was so consumed in middle school getting good grades that i didnt know what i wanted to do in life and freshman year although i got bad grades a gained a sense of direction in life. Is there a way you think I can improve my scores or ec’s?

@caralhoman I can not improve my gpa. Do you have any advice on things I can do to seem like a strong applicant and have the adcoms over look my gpa? Do essays have a great weight or do they not care as much?

@bbixl145, do not rely on outside scholarships. The really large ones are uber-competive and a huge longshot. Are you saying that most schools where you ran the NPC estimated a family contribution (EFC) of 4000-5000?

@suzy100 not all but a good handful, for the ones that are not, I can take out loans or do work study

Well, at this point, there’s not much more you’re going to be able to do. You did awesome.

Whatever, im not gonna stress anymore. I will try my best and at this point have lowered all hopes and expectations. If i dont get in, i clearly didnt belong. Still gonna try hard for a good medical school. Thanks for everyone who helped!
